Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) Program
The PGWP is an open work permit which enables its holder to work for any employer in any location in Canada. It allows international students who graduate from Canadian universities and colleges to work in Canada for up to three years upon graduation.
To acquire a post-graduation work permit, you must currently hold valid temporary status or have emigrated from Canada. You must have graduated from an eligible designated learning institution (DLI) and given in clear evidence that you fulfill all of the criteria.
Post-Graduation Work Permit Criteria
• You have completed an academic, vocational or professional training program at an eligible institution in Canada that is at least 8 months in duration leading to a degree, diploma or certificate.
• Must have maintained full-time status for the duration of their program.
• Apply within the duration of 180 days of receiving the transcript or official letter of completion of the program.
• For confirming that you have fulfilled all the requirements for the completion of the program you have received an (official letter/ transcript) from the designated learning institution (DLI).

The validity of the PGWP depends on the length of the Canadian study program.

Deadline of PGWP's Application
The deadline you have is up to 180 days(six months) after your graduation to apply for a PGWP. You will receive a transcript with an official letter from the DLJ (eligible) confirming that the requirements to complete the program of study are met.
If the study permit expires before the attainment of marks, candidates have two choices:
• Either; to apply for a visitor record to stay in Canada longer
• Or, they can leave Canada and apply for the PGWP
