Spousal Sponsorship
Canada allows every Canadian citizen or permanent resident to settle in Canada with their family. The spousal sponsorship program comes under family class immigration which enables the Canadian citizen or permanent resident to sponsor their spouse, common-law partner, or children (dependent) to stay with them in Canada by permanent residence.
A Canadian citizen and permanent resident of Canada is eligible to sponsor their spouse, conjugal partner, or common-law partner but it is necessary that arriving immigrants get proper respect, support and care from their sponsors. If you want to be eligible to receive a visa in this immigration program, then you must be able to prove your relationship and should fall under these categories;
Spouse
To support the claim in this relationship both the parties are married and have a legal document of their marriage.
Conjugal Partner
A conjugal partner is a foreign national living outside Canada, in a Conjugal relationship with the sponsor ( at least for 1 year ) but could not live with the sponsor as a couple in their country of residence or marry.
Common Partner
Both the partners should reside together( at least for 1 year) neglecting sudden absence due to business or family reasons.
Family Class Immigration
The Spousal Sponsorship Application is given the top priority at Canadian Visa Offices. The spouse, common-law partner or conjugal partner applying for spousal sponsorship in Canada, looking to immigrate to Canada should only be sponsored by a Canadian Citizen or permanent resident. If you have applied to sponsor a spouse outside Canada, and if the sponsorship application is approved while the decision is made, the Canadian Immigration Authorities will issue the applicant a Canada Spouse Visa which is a confirmation of the permanent residency. 
Application Package
You have to finish off and prepare all the forms and supporting documents which are mandatory for your situation.
Acknowledgement
The letter of acknowledgement of receipt would be provided to the applicant by IRCC once the application is opened and checked.
Medical
The deadline and instruction will be provided by the IRCC for the completion of a medical exam.

The person who is being sponsored will become a permanent resident after reaching Canada (he must reach or enter the country before the expiry date appears on the temporary visa). If you are applying for the spousal sponsorship inside Canada, the application will be processed and get approved. Once the application gets approved, the applicant's status (spouse, common-law partner or conjugal partner) will change from being temporary to permanent resident. With the help of spousal sponsorship, the applicant would be eligible for living in Canada for an Open-Work Permit. Application Forms
You have to mail the Spouse visa document checklist IMM5533 (with your application package which will involve the list of application forms and documents you have sent to the sponsor. It would include applicable Country specific requirements along with special instructions.)
Processing Time
The processing time is just shortened to 12 months from 26months for applications. The Sponsorship Application status can be checked online while the application is processed by the IRCC tool.
Sponsorship

How Do I Apply To Spousal Sponsorship?

Sponsorship Programs
Here are two parts to apply for sponsoring for your spouse or partner:-
1- The Canadian or Permanent Resident must apply to become a sponsor for his or her (spouse or common-law partner)
2- The spouse or common-law partner must apply for permanent residence.
Sponsorship Program
The outland spousal sponsorship route of the family sponsorship program is chosen when the sponsored is residing outside Canada. It enables the Canadian citizen or permanent resident to travel in and out of Canada throughout the process of application but the decision of whether the sponsor could re-enter Canada or not would be the decision of the Canadian Immigration Authority.
Inland Sponsorship
The Inland Sponsorship program is chosen when Canadian citizens or permanent residents are already residing with their spouses in Canada on a temporary Canadian status which means they can eligible to remain and work in Canada. The inland application usually takes more time compared to Outland.
Requirements for Sponsoring In Canada
Being a Sponsor you have to be committed towards providing full support financially to the sponsored person which includes the dependent children. You will be expected to fulfill the basic needs of the sponsored person which will include :-

Change Medical To (Medical Examination)and then add this: Within the 30 days after collecting the instruction provided you have to go for the medical exam. IRCC may decline your application if the instructions are not followed or there is a complication in your medical exam and will get in touch with you for advice.
Decision
After receiving the required information IRCC will finish your application processing. The applicant will receive confirmation of the permanent residency. After the satisfaction of the officer, the applicant can enter Canada as a permanent resident.
