Overview


The Super Visa is a temporary resident permit allowing parents and grandparents to stay for up to 2 years in Canada per visit and multiple entries into Canada for a period of up to 10 years if your parents and grandparents stay for up to 6 months per visit. * Your parents and grandparents should apply for a visitor visa if they want to stay for less than six months in Canada. Visitor Visa or Tourist Visa:- Can Stay a Maximum Of 6 Months Parents/ Grandparents Super Visa:- Can Stay Up To 2 Years Parents / Grandparents Program:- Permanent Resident Status

Difference


The key difference between Super Visa and a Multiple Entry Visa is that a super visa allows parents or grandparents to stay in Canada for up to 2 years per visit and in the case of a multiple entry visa parents or grandparents can stay in Canada for maximum 6 months.

Apply


The Parents/ Grandparents must meet these requirements To be eligible for a super visa:
• Must be the Parent/Grandparent of a Canadian citizen or permanent resident of Canada.
• You cannot include your dependent child in the super visa application.
• Must have a document demonstrating you have medical insurance from a Canadian insurance company.
• Should be applied from outside Canada.
• Must prove intent to leave by your own choice at the end of your approved duration.
• Should be allowed to enter Canada after an immigration medical exam confirming good health.
• Convince an immigration officer of powerful links with the home country.

Documents


1) Must have medical insurance from a Canadian insurance company that is:
• With the validity for a minimum of 1 year from the date of entry
• Must provide minimum coverage of CAD 100,000.
• Poof that medical insurance has been paid off (quotes will not be accepted)
2) Proof Of Relationship
3) Must have a signed letter from Child or Grandchild who are inviting you to visit Canada which involves :-
• a promise of financial support for the length of your visit
• List and Number of people living in their household
• Copy of Canadian Citizenship or Permanent Residency Document 4) Meet all the requirements of medical exam for IRCC approved practitioners. 5) Proof Of Support

The child/ grandchild inviting you must need to prove that their household meets the certain required minimum necessary income (MNI). Here are the documents that can be used to show the proof of support :-
• Notice of Assessment (NOA) or T4/T1 for the most recent tax year
• Employment Insurance Benefit Statements
• Employment letter ( Salary, Job Title, Job Description, and Hiring Dates)
• Pay Stubs
• Bank Statements


*The child or grandchild must give the income related documents required as proof of support.
